Lazy Chili

This is a super easy and tasty chili recipe. I got this recipe from a co-worker a few years ago and have been making it ever since. It's perfect to make on a chilly day when you just want to stay in and cuddle with your dog to a good book or movie. Here's how I ended up with this yummy dish.
First, I browned one pound of spicy sausage with the casing removed and one pound of ground beef. I added water to help break up the meat and then drained most of it when it was cooked. I chopped a whole yellow onion and added it to the browned meat. Of course, I used one of those slap chops to save time and tears. Then I added one large can of whole peeled tomatoes, one small can of tomato paste, two fresh cut jalapenos, and kidney beans. I'm usually not a beans kind of person but of course you can add whatever beans you'd like.

Next I added Italian Seasoning, and both Hot and Mild McCormick's Chili seasonings. Yes, I cheated. This is a lazy recipe remember? As it started to simmer, I added fresh cut basil leaves. Let the mixture simmer for about an hour and then serve. Top it off with sharp cheddar cheese, chives, sour cream, whatever your little heart desires!

Ingredient(s) Breakdown:
1 large can of whole peeled tomato
1 small can of tomato paste
1 can of kidney beans (or whatever beans you prefer)
1 pound of hot sausage (with the casing removed)
1 pound of ground beef
1 whole large yellow onion (chopped)
2 jalapeno peppers (sliced)
1 packet of McCormick's Hot Chili seasoning
1 packet of McCormick's Mild Chili seasoning
Basil leaves
Italian Seasoning

Enjoy! :)
