ShoeMint - Hello Edith

posted on: Saturday, December 31, 2011

I've been waiting for my package for a week or so and luckily it arrived a day early! I've always wanted a pair of mary-jane heels and boy did ShoeMint deliver! I've heard of other subscription shopping sites and like everyone else, I absolutely love a great deal but I wanted to make sure my huge feet can handle the shoes. I have yet to meet a pair of heels that didn't leave me aching by the end of the night with exception to a pair of blue heels I bought years ago. Those were my go-to party shoes and coincidentally they're from the same designer that backs ShoeMint. You guessed it, Steve Madden. After several moves I am sad to say that I lost my beloved pair of blue pumps.

What I love about ShoeMint are the designs of the shoes, the quality and Rachel Bilson teamed up with Nicole Chavez and Steve Madden for the brand. Yes please, because I love Steve Madden shoes just not always the prices. ShoeMint offers the same great shoes for a set price which is still on the pricey side however you get what you pay for.
The package came and as you can see it got a little roughed up in the FedEx truck. I shed away that layer to find a sturdy black shoebox. Neatly wrapped within that box were the Edith shoes. I stared at them with both awe and fear. These heels are a whooping six inches tall! Steve Madden actually has a very similar if not exact shoe in his personal collection, the Viktoree. ShoeMint has the same shoe under their label for $79.98 and the Viktoree is $129.95. Which would you prefer? I'm not sure if they still have the deal but since it just debuted they were offering a 20% discount on the Edith. Personally I really wanted the Blush Suede however they sold out and they only restocked the Black Suede.
As intimidating as they were I had to try them on. I'm glad I got a half size up like the site suggested, they do run relatively small. They felt fun, sexy and daring. The style not only makes you taller but makes your legs look longer which is a huge plus since I'm 5'3" with short stubby legs which would equal to 5'9" which also means I will live in these shoes! Hopefully I'll be able to last in these shoes..the platform is really high so there's not too much of an arch. The only real issue I have is the design of the font of the shoe. It makes the shoe look great--amazing even however, one step too far and you could take a tumble if you're not too careful. So prance away in ShoeMint's Edith however take caution.

Here's the debut video from ShoeMint's site.

Sorry for the lack of entries, it's December, it's been super busy! Or rather..this is the only "vacation" I get so I've been relaxing to Television, video games and lounging around in my PJs all day. I started my job at the perfect time, they offer us over a week off for the holidays! With that being said, have a wonderful new year everyone!
